Geohot released neusten Jailbreak “Limera1n”

Aus heiterem Himmel hat sich der in der Jailbreaker Szene sehr bekannte Geohot zurückgemeldet und einen eigenen neusten Jailbreak veröffentlicht: “Limera1n”.
Dieser neue Jailbreak kann alle Apple Geräte mit der iOS 4.1 Firmware knacken und hat dem konkurrierenden DEV-Team die Show gestolen.
Es war geplant, dass am 10.10 das Tool Greenpois0n veröffentlicht werden sollte, doch wurde dieser Releasetermin verschoben und wieso?
Geohot hatte sich eigentlich von der Jailbreaker Szene verabschiedet, hat sich jetzt aber mal wieder noch unbeliebter gemacht, indem er comex (Entwickler vom DEV Team) einen untethered exploit geklaut hat und in seinem Programm mit untergebracht hat. Geohot hat sich aber ansonsten nur an einem der zwei möglichen Bootrom Lücken bedient, weswegen das DEV Team kurzehand entschieden hat den Releasetermin wenige Tage zu verschieben, um für Greenpoison das gleiche Hole zu nutzen, wie es Geohot getan hat, um später für die nächsten iOS Firmwares einen Joker in der Hand zu behalten.
Das DEV Team warnt jedoch Limera1n zu benutzen, da es evtl. unstabil ist und Probleme bringen könnte. Man sollte es auf eigene Gefahr benutzen und UNLOCKER sollten komplett
auf diesen Jailbreak verzichten, da evtl. das Baseband geupdatet wird und das Iphone für immer seinen Unlock verlieren könnte. Wartet daher lieber, bis das DEV Team Greenpois0n rausbringt. Siehe deren Blog http://blog.iphone-dev.org/
